Hi,

after 1 form 3 nodes update, ceph showed:

all OSDs are running reef or later but require_osd_release < reef

and second node refuse to upgrade.

Checking Ceph health...
Ceph health not OK.

After checking:

and set:
ceph osd require-osd-release reef

Upgrade go smoothly.

The command is needed if you previously upgraded to 4.0 as per page 6 of guide.

Can you provide a little more detail on this?

I am planning on updating our system this weekend. We have 6 nodes, 2 of which were management nodes that have been in place for 5 years so have been upgraded multiple times and are currently on 4.0.0. The rest of the nodes were installed with 4.0.

I assume I just need to follow step 7 on page six of the upgrade guide at this point. Is there a particular order I should update? Management nodes first and then storage nodes? Our management nodes are also storage nodes. I just don't want to run into a surprise this weekend with the update.

Thanks,
Neil

Yes you should start with first 3 management nodes as per guide.

Are there any plans to upgrade the grafana package that is bundled with PetaSAN? I just upgraded to 4.1.0 and found that it is still using grafana 6.2.5. It's made our vulnerability scanner go crazy.

No plans for now. what is in complaining about?

Thanks for the reply.

Here is a list of the vulnerabilities my scanner found. All of these have a CVSS rating of 7.5 or higher.

Grafana CSRF Vulnerability (GHSA-cmf4-h3xc-jw8w)
Grafana 3.0.1 < 6.7.4, 7.0 < 7.0.2 SSRF Vulnerability
Grafana Image Renderer Vulnerability (GHSA-2cfh-233g-m4c5)
Grafana < 8.5.15, 9 < 9.2.4 Multiple Vulnerabilities
Grafana < 7.4.2 DoS Vulnerability
Grafana Privilege Escalation Vulnerability (GHSA-x744-mm8v-vpgr)
Grafana OAuth Vulnerability (GHSA-mx47-6497-3fv2)

I did a manual upgrade to Grafana 12.4.1 to resolve these findings.
