PetaSAN Management Bond – Change Slave Interfaces (eth3/eth5 → eth3/eth4)

Hello Team,

I am facing an issue with the management bond configuration on a PetaSAN (Ubuntu-based) node. Currently, the management bond (mgmtbond) is configured with eth3 and eth5 as slave interfaces.

Now, I need to remove eth5 and add eth4, so that the management bond uses eth3 and eth4 instead. However, I am unable to edit or update the existing configuration properly.

Could someone please guide me on:

  • The correct configuration file to modify in PetaSAN

  • The proper steps to remove an interface from an existing bond

  • The safe way to apply the changes without disrupting cluster access

You can change the network configuration from

/opt/petasan/config/cluster_info.json

then reboot
